Welcome to the Bella Giles-Smith grassroots amateur dressage rider official website.
Bella fell in love with dressage back in 2012 and is still thoroughly enjoying the hard work and dedication required for a sport that requires precision and elegance.
During 2017 Bella and Rudy took on new challenges Bella never thought she would be able to do with Rudy. Riding bit-less, learning to ride side-saddle and even a little bit of jumping. Not to mention being supported by amazing sponsors.
2018 so far, Bella needed to reduce her outgoings, so made the difficult decision in January to sell her beloved horsebox called Bluebell. Luckily, a friend at their yard very kindly lets Bella borrow their horsebox when they are not using it. So Bella can still get out competing with her gorgeous horse Rudy.
The big news for this year, Bella and Rudy have taken the plunge and moved up from Novice to Elementary level Dressage. Coming 3rd in their first 3 competitions this year and qualifying for the Merrist Wood Dressage Championships in October 2018 at Elementary level. It is proving quite a challenge for them both as moving up to Elementary is quite a jump. They are relishing the challenge and with Rudy looking and moving better than ever, has given Bella the confidence to take on the more difficult movements required. Who knows what Bella and Rudy will achieve this year, one thing is for sure, they will have lots of fun in and out of the Dressage arena.
Keep an eye on their successes via the results page.
